The Advanced Journal of Science and Innovation (AJSI) is committed to transparent, accurate, and responsible recognition of all individuals who contribute to scholarly work.

Authorship carries both credit and responsibility. All listed authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the submitted work and must accept responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct of the publication.

AJSI follows internationally recognized authorship principles. Authorship should be based on all of the following criteria:

• Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.

• Drafting the manuscript or reviewing it critically for important intellectual content.

• Final approval of the version to be submitted and published.

• Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work and to ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Individuals who meet fewer than all of these criteria should not be listed as authors. However, their contributions should be acknowledged where appropriate and with their permission.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

All authors are responsible for the content of the manuscript and must ensure that the work is original, accurate, ethically conducted, and prepared in accordance with the journal’s policies.

All authors must:

• Meet the journal’s authorship criteria.

• Approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

• Agree to the submission of the manuscript to AJSI.

• Accept responsibility for their own contributions and cooperate in addressing questions relating to the accuracy or integrity of the work.

• Disclose all relevant conflicts of interest and funding sources.

• Ensure that all data, results, references, images, tables, and statements included in the manuscript are accurate and appropriately presented.

• Cooperate with the journal if corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retractions become necessary.

2. Corresponding Author

One author must be designated as the corresponding author.

The corresponding author is responsible for:

• Managing all communication with the journal before and after submission.

• Ensuring that all authors are included correctly in the submission system.

• Ensuring that all authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript.

• Confirming that all authors agree with the author order and author contribution statement.

• Communicating editorial decisions, reviewer comments, revision requests, proofs, and publication information to all co-authors.

• Ensuring that declarations relating to conflicts of interest, funding, ethics approval, informed consent, data availability, and the use of artificial intelligence tools are complete and accurate.

Designation as corresponding author does not imply greater authorship credit. All authors share responsibility for the published work.

3. Author Order

The order of authors must be agreed upon by all authors before submission.

AJSI does not determine author order and will not mediate disputes between authors regarding the sequence of names, the inclusion or exclusion of authors, or the extent of individual contributions.

Authors are encouraged to discuss authorship, author order, and contributions at the beginning of the research project and to review these arrangements before submission.

4. Contributorship Statement

AJSI encourages authors to provide a transparent statement describing the contribution of each author.

Authors may use the CRediT Contributor Roles Taxonomy, where appropriate. CRediT identifies the specific roles performed by contributors and promotes transparency in scholarly authorship.

Relevant contribution roles may include:

• Conceptualization.

• Methodology.

• Software.

• Validation.

• Formal Analysis.

• Investigation.

• Resources.

• Data Curation.

• Writing – Original Draft.

• Writing – Review and Editing.

• Visualization.

• Supervision.

• Project Administration.

• Funding Acquisition.

Authors should list only the roles that accurately reflect each individual’s actual contribution.

Example:

Author Contributions:
A.B.: Conceptualization, Methodology, Formal Analysis, Writing – Original Draft.
C.D.: Data Curation, Investigation, Visualization.
E.F.: Supervision, Writing – Review and Editing.
All authors reviewed and approved the final manuscript.

CRediT roles describe contributions; they do not by themselves determine whether an individual meets the journal’s authorship criteria.

5. Acknowledgements

Individuals who contributed to the research or manuscript but do not meet all authorship criteria should be recognized in the Acknowledgements section, with their written permission.

Acknowledgements may include, where appropriate:

• Technical assistance.

• Administrative support.

• Language editing.

• Data collection assistance.

• Access to facilities, equipment, materials, or research participants.

• General supervision that did not include substantial intellectual contribution.

• Financial or institutional support.

Professional medical writers, editors, translators, statisticians, or other contributors who do not qualify for authorship should be acknowledged, and their role and source of funding should be disclosed where applicable.

6. Changes to Authorship

Changes to authorship after initial submission, including the addition, removal, replacement, or rearrangement of authors, are permitted only in exceptional circumstances.

Any request for a change in authorship must be submitted by the corresponding author and must include:

• A clear written explanation for the requested change.

• Written confirmation from all listed authors, including any author being added or removed.

• An updated author contribution statement.

• Any additional documentation requested by the editorial office.

The journal may suspend editorial processing while an authorship dispute is being reviewed.

Changes to authorship after acceptance will be considered only in exceptional cases. Changes after publication will be handled through an appropriate correction notice where justified.

7. Authorship Disputes

AJSI expects authors to resolve authorship disputes through direct communication and, where necessary, through their affiliated institutions.

The journal does not investigate or adjudicate disputes about authorship, contribution, or author order. However, the journal may suspend review, acceptance, or publication while a dispute is unresolved.

Where appropriate, AJSI may request confirmation from an author’s institution or relevant research body before proceeding.

8. Group Authorship and Collaborative Research

For manuscripts produced by a research group, consortium, or collaborative network, the manuscript must clearly identify the individuals who take responsibility for the work.

The group name may appear in the author list where appropriate, provided that the individual members and their contributions are clearly identified in the manuscript or supplementary material.

The corresponding author must ensure that all named individuals meet the authorship criteria or are appropriately acknowledged.

9. Artificial Intelligence Tools

Artificial intelligence tools, including generative AI systems, language models, chatbots, and automated writing tools, must not be listed as authors.

AI tools cannot meet authorship requirements because they cannot take responsibility for the content, approve the final manuscript, disclose conflicts of interest, or be accountable for the integrity of the work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all content produced with AI assistance. Any substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools for writing, analysis, coding, translation, image generation, or other research-related activities must be disclosed transparently in the manuscript or cover letter, in accordance with the journal’s Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools policy.
